Fall Equipping Classes
Equipping Classes At City Life Church, we endeavor to help every person grow toward maturity in Christ, connect with others in authentic relationships, and engage in the mission of making disciples. Our Equipping Classes are supplemental spaces aimed at further exploring theology, diving into the Word, and growing together in community.
Our Fall Equipping Classes will be Sept 13-Nov 1 (8 wks):
Gospel Basics - What the Gospel is and how we apply it to our lives
The Story of the Church - How we are rooted in a historic faith
Kids programming provided for K-4th during these classes.

CROP WALK
CROP Hunger Walks are community-based fundraising events that help to raise funds to provide meals for those in our own community who need them—and supporting programs that create greater food security in communities all around the world. Percentage of funds raised will go towards our Neighborhood Ministry!

Women's Fellowship Night
All women are invited to our Women’s Fellowship Night at Greater Grounds Coffee & Co. at 922 E. Douglas. Come anytime between 6-8 pm for a great time of connecting with other ladies at City Life! No RSVP needed!
City Life Liturgy Album Release & Worship Night
We are excited to officially release the first album to be fully recorded at City Life Church, featuring original songs and a classic hymn performed by members of our liturgy team. All are invited!
Worship will begin at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary (please park and enter our north lot and entrance).
Light snacks and refreshments will be served. Merch will be available for purchase!

Theme: True Humanity
What does it mean to be human? In our cultural moment, being human means being efficient and successful. Honor is bestowed on those who reach the top. In a twisted irony, this utilitarian view of life dehumanizes us. Yet, in the life of Jesus, we see a picture of humanity that is unhurried.
This Fall Retreat, students will meditate on what it means to slow down. By reflecting on the life of Jesus, students will get a glimpse into what true humanity looks like; limits and all.
Discipleship Conference
SAVE-THE-DATE: Our annual Discipleship Conferences are opportunities for renewal and refreshment as we step out of the regular rhythms of fall to intentionally fix our eyes on Jesus. This year’s conference will be held Nov 13-14 with special guest, John Starke.
Theme: The Heart of Sabbath
John Starke is a pastor, author, and speaker passionate about helping individuals and communities experience the transforming power of the gospel. He serves as the Lead Pastor of Apostles Church Uptown in New York City, a vibrant congregation committed to seeking the renewal of the city through the love of Christ. Known for his thoughtful preaching and pastoral care, John has a heart for equipping believers to live out their faith in the complexities of modern urban life. He’s the author of The Possibility of Prayer and The Secret Place of Thunder. Most recently, John and his wife, Jena Starke, co-authored The Sabbath We Need (set to release Oct 13, 2026).

VBS: Illumination
For incoming K-6th (fall 2026)

While many people claim to know about Jesus, many are in the dark about who He really is. Some might see Jesus as just a person from history, a good man, or a wise teacher but He is much more than that.
At Illumination Station VBS, kids will be challenged to answer Jesus' important question to His disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" As they explore all the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals, kids will discover that Jesus is the light who brings hope to a dark world.
Jesus spoke to them again: "I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Fellowship & Teaching: Practical Evangelism
An opportunity to fellowship, learn, and dialogue together!
Topic: Practical Evangelism
For many of us, the word and idea of "evangelism" can be very intimidating. It can seem like a daunting endeavor to fulfill the Great Commission that Jesus gives us to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19). In a world where "truth" is relative, how do we engage in sharing the truth of the Gospel in a compelling and loving way? We feel ill-equipped. We feel awkward. We feel overwhelmed.
During our teaching time, Pastor Brett will guide us in the Biblical principles of evangelism and give us practical ways we can engage with family, friends, neighbors, etc. relationally, appropriately, and confidently.
Schedule:
Dinner: 5:30-6:15 pm
(Kids Programming: 6:15-7:30 pm)
Teaching: 6:30-7:30 pm

Easter Service
Invite your friends, family, neighbors to celebrate with us on Resurrection Sunday!
Service will be at our regular time, 10:30 am. Regular Kids programming for infant-3rd grade.
Good Friday Service
On Good Friday we gather to reflect on the death of Christ. For believers, the day is "good" because is represents Jesus' victory over sin. This year, our Good Friday service will be held April 3 at 6 pm. Childcare for infant-PreK.
Ash Wednesday Service
Our Ash Wednesday service marks the first day of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, praying, and preparation that leads up to Easter.
This year’s service will be Wed, Feb 18, beginning at 6 pm (lasting about an hour) and will include a time of worship, teaching, and reflection.
For those who wish to participate, we will impose ashes, smearing a small cross on our foreheads as a physical-felt and visible-mark of repentance: a reminder of our need for Jesus’ atonement to cover us.

Our Christmas Candlelight Service will be Wed, Dec 24, at 5:30 pm in the Sanctuary. We encourage families to worship together as children's programming will not be available.
