John Starke is a pastor, author, and speaker passionate about helping individuals and communities experience the transforming power of the gospel. He serves as the Lead Pastor of Apostles Church Uptown in New York City, a vibrant congregation committed to seeking the renewal of the city through the love of Christ. Known for his thoughtful preaching and pastoral care, John has a heart for equipping believers to live out their faith in the complexities of modern urban life. He’s the author of The Possibility of Prayer and The Secret Place of Thunder. Most recently, John and his wife, Jena Starke, co-authored The Sabbath We Need (set to release Oct 13, 2026).
